Biology 440/540 Course Description
Biology 440/540 is a course for graduate student that may be taken by advanced undergraduate students. The subject is experimental Endocrinology. As the name implies, this is not a general Endocrinology course. The course is designed to evaluate current areas of research in Endocrinology. Endocrinology is a very broad area of study that is intertwined at many levels with other areas of biological and biomedical science. To maintain cohesiveness in the course, an area of focus is chosen each year. Some areas of focus in past years have been: The Endocrinology of Stress; Endocrine responses to Starvation and; The relationship between the Endocrine and Immune Systems. The topic for Fall 2001 will be:"Endocrine Pharmacology"
